Session spotlight: The 'other' housing crisis? Quality and performance

04 Sep 2025

Poor housing quality and design can weaken household wellbeing, security and health. It can also lead to environmental and financial risks. With the race on to deliver more housing and transform our cities through densification, how are we tracking in the delivery of better, healthier housing? What approaches are working and where are we doing well?

This plenary session will delve into how quality and design is impacting the development of social and affordable housing. It looks at the commercial considerations and constraints in developing housing quickly and profitably.

You will hear from leading First Nations organisation, a large community housing provider, the Government Architect of WA and an architect and urban designer who has spent years advocating for better outcomes in our built environment.

This is a session not to be missed.
