About
National Housing Conference 2025
The National Housing Conference (NHC) has been staged in partnership between state and territory governments and AHURI for over twenty years. Convened every two years and attracting over 1,000 delegates, it is the largest housing conference in Australasia.
NHC is a 3-day forum where international and local evidence, best practice and policy come together to address challenges and develop the future shape of housing in Australia. NHC is the largest cross-sectoral housing event in Australasia and is a key platform for policy makers, housing and community service providers, researchers, and planners to shape improved housing outcomes across Australia
AHURI plays a key role in bringing together multiple perspectives to address the issues that affect Australia’s housing and homelessness sectors. This includes the perspectives of people currently accessing housing as tenants, and those who have experienced, or are experiencing challenges in accessing appropriate housing for their individual needs. AHURI encourages Consumer and Lived Experience (CLE) participation in our events, either by the invitation of other parties involved in our events, or by direct invitation. In either case, AHURI recognises that CLE participants deserve to be appropriately compensated for their involvement. Please see below for the documents setting out AHURI's position:
