Emma is the Government Architect of Western Australia and has nearly thirty years of experience working in practice and as an advocate for social issues related to the profession.

She is recognised for her skills in project critique and as the Government Architect is the Chair of the State Design Review Panel.

In 2022, Emma was named a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects in recognition of her contribution to the profession beyond architectural practice and in 2023, was awarded the RAIA Paula Whitman Leadership in Gender Equity Prize.
Emma maintains a connection with academia through her role as Adjunct Professor at Monash University and as a member of the Industry Advisory Board for the School of Architecture at the University of Technology Sydney.
