Gavin Wood is currently an Emeritus Professor in the Centre for Urban Research, RMIT University and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Curtin University. He had previously been an academic at Murdoch University in Western Australia, as well as Glasgow and Aberdeen Universities in Scotland. His current research interests are focused on the role of housing in the dynamics of wealth inequality, different perspectives on the ‘edges of home ownership’, secondary property ownership and new approaches to the taxation of residential property. He has over his career actively engaged as an advisor and consultant to numerous organisations including the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, Ministerio de Obras Publicas Y Urbanismo, Madrid in Spain, Northern Ireland Housing Executive in the UK.,  and the Australian Commonwealth Government.
