Jacek Anderst (they/them) is a non-Aboriginal public health researcher and Research Fellow in the Guuna-maana (Heal) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Program, The George Institute for Global Health, UNSW. Guided by Dharawal and Bidjigal community members, Jacek’s work explores meanings of home and priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in public and community housing in Sydney. Together with tenants, tenant advocates and social housing workers, they have developed housing information resources with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social housing tenants in South-East Sydney.
Their research lies at the intersection of Indigenous health research and housing studies. They’re passionate about research that reflects the lived experiences of people they work with to make tangible, positive change.
