Dushy Thangiah

Dushy Thangiah migrated to Australia over 36 years ago from her home country Sri Lanka, and resided in Sydney, Darwin and Townsville. When Dushy joined Yumba-Meta Ltd in 1995, she held a diverse range of senior corporate accounting roles both in Sri Lanka and in Australia. 

Dushy has worked in the community housing and community services sector for over 30 years and is a highly regarded advocate for equal opportunity for vulnerable people, particularly First Nations people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. 

Dushy has extensive experience in a wide range of areas including but not limited to, community housing, homelessness, domestic and family violence prevention, human rights, health, early education, public intoxication and related issues, disability services and public policy that impacts vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
