David Islip is an architect and Principal Adviser in architecture and urban design at the Office of the Victorian Government Architect (OVGA). With over 25 years of experience, he has worked across private practice, local government, and state-level advisory roles. His areas of focus include procurement processes, housing, education, and cultural infrastructure.
David has contributed to significant initiatives such as the Ground Lease Housing Models 1 & 2, the Government as Smart Client procurement guide, and the Better Apartment Design Standards. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and holds degrees in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Melbourne.
He has served as Chair of the Architects Registration Board of Victoria and as a member of the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia. David is also a panellist on both the Victorian Design Review Panel and the National Capital Design Review Panel.
